Sapporo Snow Festival

In February, Odori Park in Sapporo becomes a snow-sculpture gallery about 1.5 kilometres long, where castles of snow several storeys high are lit at night by projection mapping, beside steaming ramen stalls and grilled corn trailing white smoke. This is the most famous winter festival in the world: thrillingly cold and so beautiful you cannot put the camera down.
