The Siq narrows the sky to a thin line. Around the final bend, the Treasury’s columns suddenly appear from the rock. That is Petra’s most famous moment, but the wider stone city rewards a longer stay: tombs, a theater, water channels and the Monastery change color slowly in the sun. This is not a film set, but a city where people once lived.
