Marble Chapel

On General Carrera Lake in Chilean Patagonia, waves have eroded marble into low arches, caves and flowing bands of stone. From a boat, turquoise water reflects onto the pale walls; the colors shift with light, glacial sediment and water level. The distinctive scene combines close views of marble grain, hollowed lakeshore and reflected lake color. It differs from the dry sandstone and shafts of light at Antelope Canyon.
