Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Every August, Edinburgh's churches, cellars, pubs, university lecture halls and even shipping containers turn into theatres. More than four thousand comedy, theatre, circus and music shows take turns within a single month, and the Royal Mile is jammed with flyering actors and street performers. It is the biggest arts festival in the world, and the launchpad of countless comedy stars.
