Songkran Festival
April is Thailand's hottest month and its traditional new year. Over a three-day holiday the entire country picks up water guns and buckets and splashes blessings in the streets, while in temples people quietly bathe Buddha images and pour water over their elders' hands. From Bangkok's Silom Road to Chiang Mai's moat, no one goes home dry.
