Pushkar Camel Fair
Each year in late autumn, tens of thousands of camels, horses and cattle are driven into the Rajasthani desert town of Pushkar. Herders pitch tents and haggle, camels are paraded in tassels and bells, and the men with the longest moustaches climb on stage to compete. At the full moon, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims descend on the holy lake to bathe. Market dust, temple bells across the water and the setting sun together make up India's most photogenic week.
