Shiretoko Drift Ice

Winter sea ice can form an irregular white mosaic off Shiretoko, with dark channels and snowy coastal cliffs. Unlike Diamond Beach’s glacier fragments or Zao’s fixed snow-covered trees, this landscape moves with wind and currents.
