Plitvice Lakes National Park
Plitvice is not a single waterfall. Water builds natural barriers on limestone, linking a sequence of lakes before spilling into a green canyon. The Great Waterfall and the Lower Lakes offer a broad gorge, while forest paths and streams in the Upper Lakes show another scale. Boardwalks bring visitors close to the water, moss and forest reflections. The park is open year-round, but the zones available to walk change by season, especially in winter.
