Juniko Aoike Pond and Beech Forest

Aoike on the western side of the Shirakami Mountains frames deep-blue water, submerged wood and leafy forest at close range. Public platforms and paths provide the experience without entering the World Heritage core; it differs from Yakushima’s mossy cedars and Urabandai’s more open pond group.
