Hoh Rain Forest – Hall of Mosses
The Hall of Mosses Trail is the Hoh Rain Forest’s most concentrated loop of temperate rainforest: bigleaf maple branches are cloaked in thick moss and clubmoss that hang like green fringe, sword ferns carpet the ground, and young trees stand in rows on fallen logs. Yakushima is a subtropical mountain forest of giant cedars and moss; this is a low-elevation temperate rainforest fed by Pacific moisture, and a gentle loop of about 1.2 km takes you into the heart of it.
