Furano Lavender Fields

In July in Nakafurano, the air itself smells faintly of lavender. On the slopes of Farm Tomita, purple bands run in parallel with fields of red, white and yellow blooms, backed by the ridgeline of the Tokachidake range, forming the classic image of a Hokkaido summer.
