Loy Krathong, Sukhothai

Sukhothai calls itself the birthplace of Loy Krathong. Around the full moon each year, the World Heritage temple ruins are lit with candles, lotus ponds fill with floating krathong, and fireworks bloom behind the pagodas. It is the most classically atmospheric Loy Krathong in all of Thailand.
