King's Day (Koningsdag)

Every 27 April, the entire Netherlands turns orange. In Amsterdam the canals fill with boats carrying DJs and dancing crowds, and the streets become the country's biggest flea market, as a million people celebrate the king's birthday from dawn to late night. Nobody is a spectator on this day; put on orange, and you are part of the party.
